左右開弓的打者很多，已不是什麼新鮮事，但左右開弓的投手，恐怕就很少見了；運動家隊今天將3A投手Pat Venditte升上大聯盟，他就是名左右開弓的投手。

29歲的Pat Venditte，2007年選秀被洋基隊選中，這麼多年來，他一直在小聯盟打拚，都沒有機會上大聯盟，今年轉隊至運動家隊，在3A出賽17場、1場先發，戰績1勝0敗、防禦率1.36，被打擊率僅1成67，運動家隊總教練Melvin說他能來這裡（大聯盟），完全是因為他的表現。

上次大聯盟曾在一場比賽用左手、右手投球的投手是1995年9月28日博覽隊的Greg Harris，這是大聯盟史上唯一的紀錄，不過當時Greg Harris是在生涯最後一場出賽時，才用左、右手投球，而Pat Venditte則是真正左右開弓的投手。

而Pat Venditte隨後也在運動家對紅襪之戰的第7局登板，這是他在大聯盟初亮相，用28球投2局，被擊出1支安打沒失分，還投出1次三振。此戰最後紅襪隊4比2擊敗運動家隊。
